We keep collaborating with this essential facility in Greater Barcelona, a flagship of one of the European leaders in the leisure sector in Europe, the Spain-based group Aspro Ocio. Our involvement with Barcelona Aquarium, with more than one and a half million visitors a year, can be broken down into two different moments since 2007. In the first, Dakota Photos was hired to optimise the operation, management and revenues of the service offered.

At that time, L’Aquàrium was working in three different scenarios, two of them self-managed but dependent on a solely technological international operator, and the other self-managed integrally. With the entry of Dakota Photos staff and their optimised management, we increased sales in one of the scenarios by 12 times the average of the previous year. On the other hand, we implemented a set of measures aimed at increasing profitability in proportional and total numbers and reducing costs and unprofitable spots, which resulted in the elimination of one of the three original spaces. Often, less is more.

After this period of improvements and direct management, we kept collaborating with L’Aquàrium, and Grupo Aspro Ocio with external advice and the cession of our digital platform for digital downloading of the photographs acquired by visitors, including the on-site technology, Help Desk and its analytical reports.

Due to the good relationship between the two companies, we installed a Video Totem during the summer of 2021, so that visitors could have an immersive video recording on the seabed.

We are very happy that we are now able to enjoy this astonishing installation located in a privileged location.
